Faces from Home
Faces from Home
It’s been several weeks since my last post. It has not been for want of material , but more for not knowing what to write or how to put it in to words. I will say that the past few weeks have been great. We’ve had very encouraging conversations with friends and family – both here in Spain and at home; found new, comfortable places to hang out; and have spent more time getting to know people – including our flatmate and Spanish friends.
We are looking forward to a short trip to Barcelona April 1 – April 5 where we will meet two people from our home church who are serving in an outreach center for African immigrants. We will spend time with them at the center as well as time touring the city. Keep an eye on my website for new pictures of some incredible art and architecture by GaudÃ.
The past two Sundays we’ve been blessed to spend time with people from “home.” Last week we spent time with Mark and Kay Johnson who are from my parent’s church in Wisconsin (where I grew up). They moved here in January.
And yesterday we had the privilege of spending a few hours with two couples from Mars Hill. They had a layover here on their way to Morocco. Despite their fatigue, we were able to bring them into the city, show them our home and enjoy a meal together before taking them back to the airport.
I can’t put into words how good it was to see these friends and be encouraged by them!
