It’s a …
BOY!! We went to the Obstetrician on Monday for a routine visit and ultrasound and were given a very clear picture of (as our doctor put it) “the third leg.” Samuel is very happy, he was hoping for a boy. I had started out hoping for a girl, and also not wanting to know the gender, but by Monday I had decided I did want to know and that the gender didn’t really matter to me after all.
We did have a name picked out for a girl, but we also have several very cute green outfits (with lots of frogs) that will probably suit a boy better. So it’s back to the baby name book . . . THAT we’ve decided NOT to share before he is born (once we figure it out ourselves!).
We have a few ultrasound pictures, but will need to get them scanned before I can put them up here. But until then, here is our first ultrasound picture taken at 9 weeks 5 days.
As far as symptoms, I’ve been feeling little movements since February 11. Also getting occasional heartburn. I can’t eat as much at a time as I could before (otherwise I get the heartburn and a terrible over-full feeling), but I do get hungry every few hours. So far I’ve gained about 7 – 9 pounds (I used a different scale at the office on Monday), which I’m happy with. The worst, most painful symptom is one that I experience when I get cold (I won’t go into detail here – but believe me it HURTS!!!), and it is ALWAYS cold here (no continuous heating – the radiators are only on five hours/day).
So that’s the latest “Baby Bean” update. Thanks for checking in!
