Sigh of relief
We’ve found a home! We got the one I wrote about last week. We heard from the landlord the next day, and transferred over $2000 into his bank account and signed the contract yesterday. We had to pay two months rent as a deposit, plus the first month.
He and his wife met us a a bar around the corner from the Bailey’s, bought us drinks, chit-chatted, played with Josiah and Sophia and gave us time to read over the contract and ask our questions. Thankfully Jonah was there again to help us out with translation. Samuel did understand much of what he was saying, but I’m still getting used to the Andalucian accent. (It’s sort of like when I watch a British film and almost need subtitles at first until my brain can get around the accent; or when I ask our friend Jim to repeat about half of what he says!) I find a different English accent difficult as it is – even more Spanish!!
I will actually meet with the landlord (Eduardo) again on Sunday for his signature on the contract and to get the keys (he didn’t want to sign it until he could give me the keys, and the apartment won’t be ready until Monday), then we can move in! Samuel will be in London with Jim, Helen and Jonah for a gathering of leaders of 24-7 Prayer from Friday through Monday night, so we’ll plan to move in on Tuesday.
We may go by there on Monday, though (because I can hardly wait!). As the grocery store is just below us, I could at least stock fridge and the shelves in the kitchen!
On another note, it is also a relief that the weather is improving, it is finally below 90 degrees today with a moderate cloud cover! So nice!

Hooray!!!
We celebrate with you. You’re missing some great weather here, rainy, overcast, cold, damp. The 90 degree weather sounds really good right about now.
awesome! post pics when you can – i’m curious about those green cupboards. we’re happy for you!
Congrats!
God is so good to grant us our desires, even when we’ve been stomping our feet impatiently like spoiled children demanding what we want.
Post pictures of your new pad when you can… it’d be great to be able to picture you in your new home.
