Josiah in The Hospital – Finally Some Good News!
Update for Monday, January 22.
Very good news! Josiah was transferred out of ICU Saturday night and is currently on the pediatric floor and doing much better! He got up to walk for the first time in a week yesterday and although he was unsteady at first he led us out the front door and was ready to climb down the stairs! By the second walk in the afternoon he was running in the hallway with Grandma trying to keep up with the IV pole behind him!
See him in action here:
He enjoyed a visit from his friend, Sophia last night and was happy to share his French Fries and Chicken with her.
He’s eating and drinking well and the best news of all: the doctor said he should be able to go home tomorrow!!
We’ll still have to return every 48 hours for his wound to be cleaned and bandages to be changed, but the burn is healing well. He still has an area of about 4†x 2†in the center that was deeper and will need more time to heal.
We’ve decided to stay one more night in the room we’ve been renting just one block from the hospital. Samuel and I have been taking turns sleeping in the room with Josiah at night. I just came home for a little rest and to prepare for Josiah’s homecoming tomorrow.
THANK YOU for all the prayers – probably many hundreds! – and for the words of encouragement you’ve passed on to us this past week and a half. We felt well-cared-for by those close and by those who are thousands of miles away.
We are experiencing SHALOM!
Love,
Robyn, Samuel and Josiah
P.S. Check out the gallery for more photos of Josiah looking more like himself! These were taken yesterday and today.
