Thursday:

“Ok what a long day!

Anyway we had the MRI done today and the preliminary result is that there’s no visible anomalies everything looks normal. In the Doctors words we have to be cautious and wait until the official report and they’ve had time to study all the fine detail images and fine cuts, but we can rest easy that nothing dramatic shows up on the MRI…PRAISE GOD!!! Obviously the EEG and the MRI don’t match up from a purely scientific point of view but hey who cares…. Also the baby is still in a delicate clinical state but they are looking at it just being a functional problem caused by the lack of oxygen for a brief time but with possibly no physical damage (Doctor’s words). We should get the results of the detailed report in a couple of days. The key now is to get the baby to eat properly so they can take the IV out. They’ve started giving him 15ml to see if his stomach would react with larger amounts and so far we’ve seen some progress: Some times he’s digesting a little, sometimes nothing at all and sometimes all of the 15ml. Once he can eat through his mouth they’ll take the feeding tube out and give him his medication orally, and I’m assuming more tests and so forth until they feel confident this is not gonna repeat.

Friday:

“Little improvement on the digestive issue. Seems like most times he only digests 2ml in 3hrs, although some times he can do 11ml or 15ml. Breathing ok. Still shaking a lot when u touch him. Pls pray for his digestive problem. Being a full term baby he should be able to digest 30-60ml at a feeding. And it is crucial for him to be off the IV. For us to be able to hold him etc etc. Also please pray for his shaking. It’s possible his body has learned to react to being startled by shaking. But the key is that it keeps the doctors concerned -> later release. Even though we got a preliminary from the MRI which was a great praise report pls continue to pray for no brain damage not even a small one, and for whatever functional issue (causing the shaking and lethargy) he has right now to be healed. I’m confident the report about the fine cuts in MRI will also be clean and that God has healed all physical damage. I will keep you posted if we get it tomorrow or monday.
