Josiah turned THREE yesterday, June 4! We had a lot of fun enjoying the day and his “bigness” with him.

He wanted to go to a “french fry” restaurant, so we rode our bikes to the closest Burger King where he opened some gifts, had a special meal and played in play area.

He opened a few heavier gifts when we got home, and then the last one when Samuel and I returned from our Pregnancy class.

We are planning a little party for him, too, but had to postpone it another week due to too many guests not being able to make it.

Being Three
He is so excited to be “tres!” and so are we. He’s working at being potty trained, even goes dry all night some times; but still has accidents during the day, especially when he’s too busy to stop playing . One thing he likes to do is pee outside – as he’s seen the other little potty-training boys do. So he’ll sometimes stop and run over to a tree to tell us he has to pee. He even got out of the swimming pool today to relieve himself at a nearby tree!

He also has a great imagination and just recently has started interacting with his toys – talking to them, asking them questions. He occasionally has an imaginary dragon sitting on the couch or on his bed, too and comes up with lots of creative, difficult-to-pronounce names for his toys and animals. He recently renamed his “Ositos” (bears), “Tapón,” which is the name of the bear in one of his storybooks.

He has a very sweet personality and whenever he hears of someone being sick or hurt he’ll say, “we need to pray for them for Jesus to make them feel better.” He’s also very polite and loves to help mommy cook and clean (which often then requires more follow-up cleaning

He likes to do things himself – without help. “No, me do it!” he exclaims as we try to help him wash hands or brush teeth (which often leads to a bit of a struggle).

Josiah is such a joy and delight and brings so much laughter and joy to our lives. It’s so fun to see him learn, explore and grow.
