Small World
The other night while at April and Kelly’s, April told me that the previous night they had hung out with a friend of theirs from Holland (Europe, that is) who was visiting some friends who were visiting a friend who lives in Spain. The visiting friends and the friend in Spain were all from Grand Rapids. And not only that, but one of them knew of Samuel!
We jumped at the opportunity to meet them and talk of home, so the next night we had another dinner party of nine people.
It was fun to be in the presence of so many people with whom we could talk about home. And the more we talked about home, the more we realized how much our paths have crossed. Justin had heard of Samuel through a couple of Samuel’s friends, and also knows of his cousin; and Randy – as it turned out – had been interviewed by Samuel’s dad for a radio show just a few months ago. Also, two of the guys attend or attended our church back home!
We also got to know the guy from Holland who extended an open invitation to stay with him if we go to Amsterdam.
Sometimes our huge God shows us how small our world is. And that is a blessing.
