17 weeks 2 days
Whew – after that long post I wanted to give a little space before writing again, but I don’t want to get behind . . .
We were able to get in to see a doctor at a city clinic last week. Everyone was very nice and the visit went well. It was really exciting to hear the baby’s heart beating! Even though I’ve heard fetal heartbeats probably a thousand times, being my own baby’s heartbeat made it especially exciting.
I finally broke out some maternity clothes yesterday. I got tired of wearing the SAME pair of pants EVERY DAY! Though they are very comfortable and baggy, they do get dirty. So I’m wearing the same “maternity outfit” today, too. Stretch jeans, white t-shirt and black cardigan. They are still all a bit large, but at least it’s something different.
I’ve caught Samuel reading his “Expectant Father” book more lately – and today he informed me that he learned that some pregnant women will actually crave gasoline (or the smell of it). I haven’t ever heard that one before – hopefully it’s very rare! I do like dill pickles, though!
