Sevilla
Last weekend we had the great privilege of spending a few days with new friends in Sevilla – in the south of Spain. It was a great time of retreat, encouragement and inspiration for us.
The city is much smaller than Madrid, but quite busy. I think the population is about 1 million. It is bordered by a large river (rivaling the Grand River in Michigan). It has also kept a lot of its history – many buildings dating back to 14th and 15th centuries still stand in the city.
Many of the streets are lined with orange trees and the whole city smelled of orange blossoms and other fragrant flowers.
Our new friend Heather is also pregnant and due in August. We also met friends Jesus and Rachel who are expecting their first child in November. We had fun together talking about pregnancy, and the six of us even went to a maternity/baby store together. It was so fun to be able to share this experience with them!
