Phone and Spanish
Today was a good day. We finally got a phone line established, which was the first step in getting us closer to getting DSL. Samuel put in the order for the DSL and hopefully we’ll be online in a few weeks! It’s been hard having to go several days between internet times!
I also scheduled Spanish lessons for us today. Our teacher will be able to come to our home for an hour and a half a week during Josiah’s nap. Our lack of language skill is the greatest barrier to being able to acclimate to our new home and move forward in the ministries we look forward to doing, so we’re very excited to start focusing on this more intensely.
Josiah is so great and cute and curious! He decided to rearrange the food cupboard yesterday which, unfortunately, is right at his level. We usually use rubber bands to keep the doors closed, but I didn’t mind yesterday because it kept him busy while I cooked. It’s amazing to watch him and think about what is going on in his little brain! He had fun putting the peanut butter in the drawer and take out all the cereal boxes. He’s also fascinated by the soap drawer on the washing machine and it’s not uncommon to find cookies or little animals in there
He’s sprouting teeth like mad! Three molars and three other teeth (not sure what to call them)? He has also learned a new word – “shoe” – which he LOVES to repeat over and over when he sees someone’s shoes!
I’ve updated the gallery “Around the House” so check it out for more pictures. Maybe I’ll have time to get a video up tomorrow?
